Pierluigi Nervi, the world-renown Italian architect, designed
the PalaLottomatica of Rome, originally known as the Palazzo
dello Sport, in 1956 for the 1960 Olympic Games. It is considered
one of the masterpieces of twentieth century Italian architecture.
Recently refurbished, the PalaLottomatica is the largest
structure available for conventions in Rome. The main body,
thanks to its particular architectonic features, can accommodate
events ranging from 700 to 11.000 persons, taking advantage
of the modularity and the flexibility of its circular rings.
The inner panoramic ring covering 3500 sq. m. can hold up
to 2000 persons.
In view of its central location and many features, the PalaLottomatica
has been selected as the ideal venue to accommodate all events
related to the Silk Avenue Project.
